Structured, but never a drill
The rhythm matters as much as the space. Here's what a real day at Whitney's House looks like — open play, breakfast, out into the world, and calm, predictable afternoons.
Drop-off & Open Play
Doors open. Children arrive gradually and settle into soft play, puzzles, or quiet activities.
Breakfast Together
Kids help set the table, pour drinks, and clean up. Responsibility starts at breakfast. If you'd like your child to have breakfast with us, please arrive by 9:00 am.
Morning Outing or Pre-K Practice
Off to libraries, museums, or parks — or in for structured pre-K skills practice at home. Morning snack around 10:00 am.
Backyard Play & Lunch
Fresh air and movement, then a family-style meal together back at the house.
Nap & Rest Time
Upstairs to the dark, white-noise sleep sanctuary for those who need it; cots downstairs with books for kids who no longer nap.
Wake-Up & Afternoon Snack
Slow wake-ups, change into outdoor clothes, and gather for afternoon snack.
Outdoor Play & Creative Time
Outdoor play, crafts, blanket forts, obstacle courses — and pickup no later than 5:30 pm.
Infants follow their own rhythm
Infants aren't held to the group schedule for feeding or sleep. We follow each baby's own sleep windows and feeding times, gently weaving them into the day's rhythm as they're ready.
See the rhythm in person
The best way to understand a day here is to visit during active hours.
